A Sweet Story

Our cats were served some Christmas pie the other night – a cream cheese pie mixed with sour cream, dream whip and sugar in a graham cracker crust. It happened quite by accident. I was carrying the pie in an aluminum pie tin balanced on top of a shoe box and somehow got distracted.

The pie started to tip over one side of the shoe box, so I attempted to make an adjustment, which caused the aluminum pan to sag the other way and flip over. The contents of the pan flopped out and landed upside down on the sidewalk.

In the meantime, our cats were coming from all corners of the yard to greet our return. Imagine their surprise to find a pie all laid out for them. For the next half hour, in the quiet of the night, you could clearly hear the sound of nine cats lapping up cream cheese pie.

“How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!” (Psalm 119:103) I read in Psalm 62 that God is strong and loving. He’s my rock, my salvation, my fortress. Sweet! Take time to feast on the sweetness of God’s Word all laid out for you.
