A good excuse for not walking: No time

Excuse buster: Cut your walking time in half and carry a cat. The extra weight burns calories!

I have a confession to make: I’ve fallen in love with a cat named Smoky Mountain Mama.  And it was all due to her relentless pursuit to be with me. Take for example the time I tried to take a walk without her following me. Smoky was waiting by the north door, so I snuck out the south door.  She was now by the south door, so I headed around the house toward the barn. Smoky followed me right into the barn, and just as I hoped, started eating the cat food we had there. So, I headed out the back of the barn. No Smoky. I slowly walked up the lane. No Smoky. Time to increase my pace. Still no Smoky! Now I was really moving with my focus on making it to Greenfield Road and back in 30 minutes. And I guess Smoky had that in mind too, because as I took one last look back, there she was running as fast as she could to make up the 8th of a mile distance that was between her and me. Now I find myself wanting to spend time with her every day.

I’ve also fallen in love with a Savior. And it was all due to His relentless pursuit to be with me. Now I find myself wanting to spend time with Him every day. “How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!” (I John 3:1)  Spend a few moments thanking God for His love. Ask Him to help you find time to meet with Him every day.
