What is Komstad All About
To best sum up Komstad you could say we are a typical and non-typical rural church.
We are "typically rural" because we have a tight knit community. The best way to describe the community of Komstad is that we are family. This is a strength that some churches sadly are not able to take part in. Members of Komstad emphasize the importance of Church as community by making non-members feel welcome and at home, by encouraging one another to use their God given gifts, by praying constantly for others, and by connecting disciples of Christ amongst all generations. Community is one of the biggest strengths that rural churches offer.
Yet, there are ways in which Komstad is a "non-typical rural church". First, Komstad members fall in every age range. Komstad has a thriving children's ministry, with over 40 children registered. Not only do we have a number of children to liven us up, but we have a good number of youth, young adults, middle aged adults, and senior adults. Komstad is home to not only one age range, but to all generations. Second, Komstad's worship music includes both traditional hymns and contemporary worship. It blends the two nicely and all ages are able to worship God together through different styles.
Essentially, Komstad is a healthy mix. Young and Old, Hymns and Contemporary, Communal and Personal, Thinking and Practical. We are diversity in unity. Diverse in realizing God has created each of us uniquely to serve him in different ways. United by the one Lord, Jesus Christ, who calls us to and bonds us together in fellowship.
